My Story

Christoffer Loderup, LCSW

I’m a therapist (LCSW) in Utah, and I’m neurodivergent. Keeping track of little details like CEU hours has always been really difficult for me. I started building this app to help make my life a little easier.

Too much to remember

Every CEU cycle, I’d make a plan for which CEUs I wanted to get, and then save that plan somewhere. Six months later, after finishing a training, I’d make a new CEU plan and record because I forgot about my previous plan. This happened a lot. 😅

Each time I’d come back to my CEUs, I’d have to rummage through my email to find my certificates. I did end up keeping my certificates in a folder, but I still often had to redo the math each time. Just this last cycle, I didn’t realize that I was missing 3 hours of ethics until 2 months before my license renewal was due. 😭

As I’m sure you know, there’s a lot to remember with CEUs. Over time, I realized I had started avoiding my CEUs because it took so much brain power to figure out where I stood.

From a spreadsheet to an app

So first, I built a spreadsheet that did the math for me. It helped a lot. When I shared it with other therapists, I realized we all have so many different CEU situations. Some of us have supervision requirements. Some have taken the 8-hour supervisor course and some haven’t. Some do consult groups. Some have rollover hours. MFTs used to need extra hours. It’s a lot.

A friend suggested that I could build an app with the help of AI, so I decided to give it a shot. The result is this app.

Curious how I made it? Read how I built this app.

Why it matters to me

I care deeply about helping improve the lives of therapists. We sit with people in their hardest moments. And yet many of us are underpaid (looking at you, insurance companies), which means we often work more than we should and are at risk of burnout.

I recognize I can’t fix all of that. But my hope is that this tool makes your life a little less stressful, as it has mine.

With kindness,
Christoffer Loderup, LCSW
